I found that the music used in the Emil fight not to mention its context (max all weapons, lv99, magic attacks that cannot be defended against, extremely emotional dialogue and references to NieR, ending Y) makes the fight feel MUCH more like a final boss than the actual final bosses (9S or A2) at least IMO.
